1. Introduction & Who We Are

This Privacy Policy explains how FeatherCalc (the "Service") handles personal data. The Service is a cost calculator and CRM tool for 3D printing, available as a web application at https://feathercalc.com and as an Android application.

The Service is operated by Skrypnyk Serhii, Individual Entrepreneur (ФОП Скрипник Сергій), registered in Ukraine ("we", "us", "our"). For the purposes of the GDPR and similar data-protection laws, we act as the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We try to keep the amount of personal data we collect to the minimum needed to run the Service.

• Account data. When you create an account, we collect your email address through Firebase Authentication (provided by Google). We use this email to identify your account, sync your data across devices, send essential service emails, and manage your Premium subscription.
• Application data. Content you create inside the app — such as calculator profiles, material prices, client records, orders, warehouse items, and history entries — is stored in your account so it can be synchronized between your devices via Google Firestore.
• Usage data and error logs. We may collect limited technical information about how the Service is used, such as device type, operating system, app version, crash reports, and error logs. This helps us diagnose problems and improve reliability.
• Payment data. All payments are processed by our reseller and Merchant of Record, Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle"). We do not see or store your full card number, CVV, or bank details. We only receive limited information from Paddle, such as your subscription status, the product you purchased, transaction identifier, and billing country.
• Communications. If you contact support, we keep the email thread so we can follow up and improve the Service.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the data described above to:

• Provide, operate, and synchronize the Service across your devices.
• Verify your Premium subscription status and grant access to paid features.
• Respond to support requests and solve technical issues you report.
• Fix bugs, monitor performance, and improve existing features.
• Send essential service messages (for example, important changes to the Service, security notices, or receipts and subscription notifications sent by Paddle).
• Comply with legal obligations that apply to us as an Individual Entrepreneur in Ukraine.

We do not use your personal data for advertising or profiling, and we do not sell it.

4. Account Deletion

You may delete your FeatherCalc account and all associated data at any time. Two options are available:

• In-app: Open the app → Settings → Account → "Delete Account".
• Via the web: Visit https://feathercalc.com/delete-account_en.html and follow the instructions — no app installation required.

Upon deletion, your account data (email, Pro status, synced settings) will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days. Some non-personal data may be retained in anonymized form for analytics or as required by law. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active Google Play or Paddle subscription — please cancel it separately through the respective store before requesting deletion.

5. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR Art. 6)

Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or similar laws apply, we rely on the following legal bases:

• Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)). To create your account, run the Service, sync your data, and provide Premium features you have subscribed to.
• Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)). To keep the Service secure, debug problems, prevent abuse, and improve the product. We balance these interests against your rights.
• Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)). To comply with tax, accounting, and other legal duties that apply to us.
• Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)). Where consent is required (for example, for optional communications), we will ask for it and you can withdraw it at any time.

6. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We only share personal data with service providers that are necessary to run the Service:

• Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Firebase Hosting, Cloud Functions) — to authenticate users, store and synchronize your data, host the website, and run backend logic.
• Paddle — as Merchant of Record, Paddle handles the full checkout, payment processing, subscription management, invoicing, and applicable sales taxes. Paddle's own privacy policy applies to data they collect directly from you during purchase.
• RevenueCat — used on mobile platforms to verify subscription status and receipts.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect our rights and the safety of our users.

7. Data Retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal data from our active systems within approximately 30 days. Some limited information (for example, records related to payments and tax) may be kept for longer where we are legally required to retain it. Backups are rotated automatically and expire on a rolling schedule.

8. Your Rights

If the GDPR or a similar law applies to you, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Erasure — ask us to delete your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
• Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data in certain situations.
• Portability — request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
• Objection — object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
• Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting prior processing.
• Lodge a complaint — you may contact your local data-protection supervisory authority if you believe your rights have been infringed.

9. International Data Transfers

Because we rely on Google Firebase and Paddle, your personal data may be stored on, or transferred to, servers located outside your country, including in the European Union and the United States. Where data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, our providers rely on safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses to protect the data.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for adult users — small-business owners, hobbyists, and professionals working with 3D printing. It is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including TLS encryption in transit, access controls on Firebase resources, and role-based rules that limit who can read or write data. No system is completely secure, so we encourage you to use a strong password and to keep your device and browser up to date.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Service, our legal obligations, or our third-party providers. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision. For material changes we will make a reasonable effort to inform users, for example by an in-app notice or an email to the address associated with your account.
